ビートルズの中で一番絵が上手かったのは、…そうスチュアート・サトクリフだったんですね。いや、上手下手…とか、ジョンやポールが絵を描く…のレベルとはもう別世界です。絵を見れば分かります。彼が音楽の道を選ばなかった理由が。ビートルズでいれば有名になれたとかお金持ちになれたとか、そういうレベルの話じゃないんですね。絵で表現する物がある人はそんなもの関係なく絵で表現するきゃないんですね。彼がビートルズに在籍したのは1960年の"Silver Beetles"から"Beatles"に移行する1年間弱。"Silver Beetles"のバンド名は彼のアイデアだと言われてます。その後他のメンバーはイギリスに戻るのですが彼はハンブルグに残ります。そしてわずか22歳の若さで脳腫瘍のため亡くなります。詳しくは"Back Beat"という映画があるので参考にして下さい。でも主役のスティーブン・ドーフよりは実際のスチュアート・サトクリフの方が余程ハンサムです。
それから、現在知られている限り、スチュアート・サトクリフの実際のベースを聴くことができるのは"Beatles Ansology 1"の「ハレルヤ、アイ・ラヴ・ハー・ソー」からの3曲のみです。

バックビートは私も観ました。面白かったですし、確かに本人のほうが男前ですよね。元ビートルズという事でいまだに食ってるピートベストはなんともトホホですが（笑）

あ、そうだ。ピート・ベストの事も今度書こう。ジャックスケリントンさん、どうもありがとうございます。確かにピートベスト、ちょっと哀れですね。自殺未遂起こしたり、「Best of the Beatles」なんてソロアルバムがあったりしてね。自分のこれだけはという専門分野を持っていなかった悲劇かな。
