「癒し」だとかヒーリング・ミュージックだとかいう言葉を以前よく耳にしたが、ただのBGMで音楽を聴くのって得意ではない。感覚としてはデザインと絵画の違いのようなものだろうか。生活を潤すためただ傍に置いておくがデザインだとすると、生活者に助言を与えその人生にまで立ち入ってくるのが絵画ではないかと思っている。そして当然だがそれらは享受すべくコンテンツを有する。
ということで単にBGMでケイト・ブッシュを聞く人っているのだろうか？当然いるのだろうな…。多分そういう人って最終的には彼女に対して嫌悪感をいだくのではないかと思う。これって「結婚」とかにも似ているな。男対女の組み合わせでみれば誰でも結婚はできる。しかし人間対人間の組み合わせでみると両者のコンテンツが伴わなければ結婚には踏み切れない。ま、要するにケイト・ブッシュは「聴く側が選ぶ」のではなく、「聴く側を選ぶ」音楽です。
